William Barlee Linford was the base born son of Sarah Linford baptised in Martham, Norfolk. William Barley appears to be the father of William Barlee Linford based on the number of DNA matches, although small. Sarah Payne married William Barlee Linford before they travelled to Plymouth to take the Fairlie to Australia. Sarah’s parents and William’s grandparents are buried at Martham in the cemetery outside of the church where William was baptised and married Sarah.
